Patriotic Dolls

This doll has been in my mind for a quite some time. A few years ago, I bought the little vintage doll dress from a 65 year old lady who, as a child, played with it on her own dollies.   The dress is exactly the way I bought it from the sweet gal.   The torn spots, stains and  hand stitching are all original on the dress.  The only thing I added was the doll form. The flag, tag and crown, which are attached to the doll, not the dress.   The doll bodice is on a pedestal wooden base.   The flag is not vintage but I did my best to make it blend with the age of the dress.    Her crown is heavy cardstock and covered with real silver glitter.    Her hair is wool roving.   She is painted with artist acrylics and aged with walnut ink. (Again, dress was not aged by me. Child's play and time made it this way and I love love love it!)

Hope you enjoy! She is available in my Etsy shop.

New Halloween for 2016

Halloween is probably my favorite venue to dip into when it comes to making dolls.  It's a chance to create without boundaries.     These dolls each  measure approximately 17 inches tall from the top of their heads to the tips of their toes.  They can be shelf sitters but I designed them to be hung or used with a doll stand.

Never to early For Halloween

Between all the busy work on the house, I've found sanctuary in my studio to work on some new dolls.  I hope to have several finished dolls ready by mid July.
