Throughout my life, I have always been involved in some kind of creative work even when it was just a hobby. I have been reflecting on my life and realized that all of us have to know our worth and that we can do whatever we want if only someone would have confidence in us and in turn that feeds confidence in ourselves. That is my goal with my dolls and making patterns, is to help others realize their creative potential.
I have been creating for as long as I can remember. Art class was always my favorite. I enjoyed watching things come to life on paper, clay and any other medium imaginable. I was just seven when my school teachers asked me to help create the holiday art board for school. I remember it being in colored chalk. I drew a fireplace with flames. It boosted my confidence so much to know my teachers had faith in me to do such an important job at that time. When I was still very young, I remember my older sister and I had gotten red clay dirt from the back yard and made clay rabbits for Spring. Again, this is someone whom I respected, gave me confidence and made me feel like I could do it, so I did. I don't know what happened to those little clay rabbits we made but I will always remember them. No matter what one's creativity ability or what venue one works in, I believe creativity helps the soul feel its worth.
